Technical Facility Manager â€“ Biomedical Imaging

These research facilities provide the link between excellence in research capacity and research excellence. Sydney Imaging is one of the newest Core Research Facilities and is focussed on biomedical imaging. There are three integrated capability areas at Sydney Imaging: preclinical imaging, clinical imaging and the hybrid theatre.
In this leadership role, you will be instrumental in managing the Preclinical Imaging (small animal) and Hybrid Theatre (large animal) facilities. Your key responsibilities will be to: manage the research operations within Sydney Imaging’s preclinical and hybrid theatre facilities manage, coach and support a team of technical staff ensure the facilities meet the needs of researchers, and are aligned with the University’s research objectives provide expert advice, training, guidance and technical support to researchers and students using the facilities ensure reporting and documentation requirements are met, including governance and ethics reporting work closely with researcher and key academics, providing collaborative input on their projects ensure the imaging facilities are compliant with Workplace Health and Safety requirements The role is primarily based at the Camperdown/Darlington campus. Sydney Imaging has equipment across three sites (Charles Perkins Centre, Brain and Mind Centre and the Kolling Institute).
About you a PhD in science, engineering or equivalent experience in a field involving biomedical imaging animal research strong background and experience in managing and coaching diverse and high performing teams initiative and capability for both independent decision-making and sound judgment when consultation is required experience in managing multiple projects and delegating tasks to achieve optimal team performance excellent judgement to ensure facilities are compliant with governance and controls, and to mitigate risk excellent knowledge of safety regulations and operating procedures within an imaging laboratory environment.
