This full-time position will be located in our Melbourne office situated at Southbank. pitt&sherry are looking to for a committed and talented civil engineer. Essential competencies include: Minimum 2 years experience Tertiary qualification in Engineering Great interpersonal skills Willingness to undertake field activities Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Description Plans, designs, organises and supervises the construction and operation of bridges, structures and other civil engineering projects. Duties will include: Undertake drafting and understanding of specifications, drawings, plans and quality procedures ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with WH&S policies and procedures involvement in technical and management contribution to investigations, civil/structural/hydraulic design and documentation, project management and technical advisory work establishing detailed programs of works for site activities while liaising with client and contractor studying and producing engineering drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates, detailed cost plans and estimates to assist in budgetary control monitoring and conduct changes to designs, assessing cost associated with design options analysis of structural components (bridge or temporary structures) for both static and dynamic loads designing structures and bridges to achieve stability and avoid buckling, bending, torsion in any way in accordance with AS/NZS1170, AS1500, VicRoads Manual, AstroRoads and any relevant Australian Standards document or local authority document. be involved in the design of the transportation systems such as highways, railroads and bridges assisting team and project managers by developing good working relationships with clients during projects undertaking internal training and work towards accreditation relevant to profession Ideally what we are looking for ; Finite Element Analysis skills Designing of retaining walls pitt&sherry are committed to fostering a culture which values taking a sustainable approach in all that we do, empowering our people to achieve great outcomes through team work, collaboration and the freedom to be self-directed in delivering on client needs.
