Melbourne CBD based Immediate Start / Long term Contract Mining Projects Our client is an exciting mining company in Australia that is embarking on an exciting new chapter. Role Our client requires the experience of a Piping Design Engineer to work on the design of piping for process, slurries, steam, and gas piping, including sizing of lines, pump selection, preparation of datasheets, valve lists, line lists etc. Preparation of designs of ductwork for dust collectors and heat recovery systems.
Datasheets and specifications for process equipment including, tank agitators, filter presses, thickeners, dryers etc. Assist in the review of piping deliverables produced withing the design team. Duties and Responsibilities Perform piping engineering detail design calculations.
Prepare piping technical specifications and piping material specifications. Prepare datasheets for valves and special piping items. Requisition piping components, provide technical evaluation and review of vendor documentation.
Perform pipe stress analysis and pipe support design. Assist in the preparation and development of project-specific procedures. Provide input into the P&IDs and participate in HAZOP reviews.
Provide technical support to the onsite construction teams, projects department, and estimating department. Assist in ensuring that the quality of deliverables in line with the relevant codes and standards, needs of the client and regulatory authorities. Skill & Experience Minimum of 5 years' piping engineering experience Extensive knowledge of Equipment Layout development, Piping Layout, and Piping Design Knowledge of piping engineering, including calculations, specifications, material and valve selection, line sizing, P&IDdevelopment, and requisitioning of piping components.
Good understanding of procedure and workflows related to the piping discipline. Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and engineering programs Pipe stressing capability and experience with Caesar II, Auto PIPE, and other relevant computer pipe stress software packages highly desirable Ability to effectively work in a team. Qualifications BSc/B.
