Commercial Insurance Reporting Analyst

An exciting opportunity to support Commercial Insurance Portfolio Analytics Team Role that is based in Sydney 10 month secondment/max term contract The role: The role is part of the Commercial Insurance (CI) Portfolio Modelling and Analytics team who are responsible for delivering the Commercial Portfolio & Intermediated data strategy and portfolio analytics. The team also acts a subject matter expert when it comes to data and analytics for commercial Portfolio. The purpose of the Portfolio Data and Analytics Specialist role is to deliver the regulatory reporting framework.

The role also assists the Portfolio analytics manager in various portfolio analytics activities and portfolio insights across all Commercial Insurance products, including SME Packages, Commercial Fleet and No- Fleet, Corporate Property, Liability, Professional Indemnity, Strata, and workers insurance. The role contributes to the financial performance of the CPP portfolio by providing key insights and analytics for portfolio management by building and maintaining the advance suite of self-serve dashboards, providing analytical support in key strategic projects and regulatory projects, driving future thinking analytics to facilitate and drive the individual product strategies Key responsibilities include but are not limited to; Assist in the delivery and execution of Commercial Insurance Data Strategy Assist in building the Regulatory reporting for DDO program Drive profitable growth through provision of performance tracking information for portfolio In conjunction with Portfolio teams assist in the design, build, and maintenance of portfolio analytics dashboards, reports Collaborate with the Portfolios on providing information to assist plan, deliver and monitor business initiatives Continuously improve portfolio monitoring systems, including liaising with Pricing, CDO, Actuarial, Finance, Portfolio, and Underwriting Collaborate with the Portfolios to monitor portfolio profile and performance to assist in making necessary decisions. Skills & Experience Degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial or related field – Mandatory Minimum 3 years relevant analytical experience in insurance or financial industry Sound understanding of insurance data and sound analytical skills Sound knowledge around key financial drivers of insurance portfolios and how these impact financial results Advanced SQL/Redshift/Netezza skills – mandatory Advanced Tableau skills and advanced Excel skills - mandatory Ability to work effectively under tight timeframes & commercial pressures.
