Chief Financial Officer Victoria University is seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking leader to ensure the university’s financial future is successfully steered through an ever-changing financial environment. The Opportunity – CFO As a key member of the Vice-Chancellor’s executive team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is accountable for ensuring financial resources are planned and leveraged strategically, effectively, and efficiently in support of the university’s Strategic Plan 2022-2028, by providing exceptional financial and accounting expertise, enabling collaborative stewardship of financial resources, and building productive partnerships across the university. This important leadership role is accountable for managing and driving value from the university’s financial resources to support our ambition to be a global leader in dual sector learning and research by 2028. The CFO is responsible for the university's overall financial planning, strategy, policy and for the Finance Division operations incorporating both management and statutory reporting.
This key leadership role is important in facilitating the pursuit of existing and new opportunities to grow revenue and margin, so that VU can thrive and build a solid financial competitive advantage . The CFO plays an important part in o ptimising the operating model to ensure that the university is agile, creative, and able to adjust quickly to disruption and shocks. Together with members of the executive, the CFO will identify, build, and support the development of partnerships and alliances with industry, government and community to accelerate innovation and further enhance VU’s strategy and reputation.
