Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Relations and Partnerships Victoria University is seeking an exceptional, progressive leader to steer the University as we commit to partnering with principle and forging deep alliances that support our values, both logically and ethically. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Relations and Partnerships will play a critical role in the enactment of our new Strategic Plan, 2022-2028: Start well, finish brilliantly, a nd in achieving our vision to be a global leader in dual sector learning and research by 2028.
The Opportunity As a key member of the Vice-Chancellor’s executive team, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Relations and Partnerships will lead the university’s strategies for engaging with and communicating to all external parties that have an impact on the university achieving the strategic plan. This critical leadership role is accountable for leading innovation in the way all external engagement, advancement and communication strategies are deployed to optimise benefits for our students, staff, partners, and community. Th is role needs to demonstrate the growth, maintenance and sustenance of ethical, likeminded alliances, and partnerships focused on campus-based centres of excellence.
For our students, co-location of industry on campus is intended to provide enhanced employability benefits. For our staff, integration with industry will inform practice to ensure we are creating the workforce of the future and provide an integrated approach to applied research to address real world challenges. Activation of our campuses will be an important element of this role’s portfolio.
Also important, is a philanthropy and sponsorships program that supports these ambitions. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor will also be accountable for the University’s government relations function, through strategic leadership and high-level advocacy, on behalf of VU, to federal, state and local governments. This role will provide a comprehensive, proactive approach to government relations to advance the University’s strategic agenda.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Relations and Partnerships will be a collaborative and influential member of the executive team, a key contributor to enterprise-wide strategic planning, and a leader of major programs that deliver on strategic priorities.
