THE COMPANY We are partnering with a wholly owned subsidiary of a global corporation, who have established themselves in Australia as a market leader within the power generation sector who provide specialist equipment, technologies and technical expertise to their customers across this industry. Their business consists of highly skilled and specialist engineering and technical personnel who provide services and solutions to power station, transmission and distribution plant owners / operators and developers. The Role Key Requirements Proactive review of the overall design, turbine model testing, quality testing and manufacturing processes employed in the supply of large (>30MW) hydro power generation equipment within company hydro power projects.
The purpose is to manage delivery of required outcomes of company contracted project works including provision of support to correct and coordinate resolution of identified issues, errors and omissions in the works through collaboration with the responsible stakeholders. Management of planning, performance and active oversight of new construction or disassembly, refurbishment and reassembly site works for large, vertical hydro power generation Turbine-Generator combinations including Main Inlet Valves and Auxiliary systems including high pressure hydraulic, pneumatic and MV/LV electrical and PLC/control systems. Management (with technical specialist support) within a workshop environment and/or of workshop services contractors for the assessment, measurement, NDE and quality management associated with refurbishment or correction of large hydro power generation equipment and components.
Essential Skills Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent industry experience 4 – 6 years in the Hydro Power Generation (or similar) industry, with 2 – 3 years in an Eng II or III level with demonstrated capability Motivated, proactive and ability to work hard under supervision Demonstrated capability to transfer knowledge to other people within the business Understanding of quality and safety management system and requirements Valid drivers license for Australia Ability to complete required safety and technical training where required for management of all aspects of the project works Strong MS office skills for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project The role will initially be based in Sydney for up to 2 year with regular travel to the Cooma / Snowy Mountains region. As the installation phase begins on site time with increase significantly with potentially 4-5 months per year required nearby the sites.
