We currently have a full-time appointment available for immediate filling. This position will be based in Broome with the Kimberley Development Commission. Working from an alternative location within the Kimberley region may be considered on a case by case basis.
We are seeking to appoint a Local Content Adviser. As the Local Content Adviser, you will assist with the coordination and facilitation of the Local Content Adviser Network. The program aims to maximise local supplier, contractor and employment opportunities by connecting regionally based businesses to procurement and contracting opportunities, increase access to information and resources and working to assist business with capacity and capability building programs and services.
In this role you will also be a productive member of Local Content Advisers working across the State to ensure consistent, professional and responsive delivery of the Government's local content objectives. For further key responsibilities please see attached JDF. The Ideal Candidate.
The ideal candidate will have great communication skills and a client focused approach to build relationships with key stakeholders. You will seek out and challenge problems and develop innovative solutions. You should be able to demonstrate exposure to the civil construction, building and maintenance industry in a regional environment, and ideally, knowledge of procurement and contract management practices.
Your goal will be to help local industry win work on government projects and you will therefore be focused on helping to ensure all tiers of the industry are equipped with the knowledge they need to register and tender for work packages. The ideal candidate will also possess previous project planning and delivery skills, be able to anticipate challenges in advance and able to devise locally appropriate solutions to assist suppliers with business capability and capacity issues. Previous demonstrated experience in Small to Medium Enterprise development and support will be considered a desirable attribute.
