This highly respected organisation has more than 100 employees and over 950 volunteers who provide much-needed, free-of-charge support to families across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Relying substantially on generous fundraising support from corporates and the community, the team works hard to ensure those in need have access to unique and varying options according to their personal needs. Reporting to the CEO, the People & Culture Manager is a valued member of the leadership team.
Together with one direct report, the team partners with key stakeholders to deliver HR solutions, advice and practical skills to line managers, with a focus to recruit & grow talent, build capability, shape culture and implement organisation-wide programs relevant to people and culture practices. Key areas of responsibility include strategic partnering, operations management, talent acquisition, remuneration and benefits, learning and development, employee and industrial relations, health and wellbeing, quality, safety and improvement. You will lead and embed some fabulous initiatives already underway, including a new approach to goal setting, a digital series focused on building resilience, and an employee awards program.
A commercially-minded, analytical, and well-rounded HR generalist, you will have demonstrated experience in leading a small team, business partnering, developing, implementing, and continuously improving policies, processes, systems, and ways of working. Strength in ER and IR is critical, as a key focus will be the negotiation and finalisation of an enterprise agreement, so you must be comfortable and competent in navigating relationships with unions. You will also need to be prepared to traverse the cultural nuances in different parts of the organisation, with the aim of enhancing collaboration and engagement.
The successful individual will need to have demonstrated experience in either the health sector, community sector, or not for profit; ideally a combination of all three You will be genuinely focused on relationships, stakeholder management and influencing change. At your core, you will be caring, committed and passionate. There is the opportunity to take a hybrid approach to working both in the office in the Eastern suburbs and remotely.
As this is a multi-site operation there will also be some travel within Melbourne. This is a full-time role however the organisation is open to candidates who would like to work a four-day week. Should your experience reflect the above criteria please apply on-line quoting Ref.
