Overview / Responsibilities Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.
Wood is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer in order to grow its Brisbane Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. In this position, you will be overseeing works on a mining project in Uzbekistan called Tebinbulak - a large titanomagnetite project on a full time permanent basis. As part of this role, you will be undertake the following duties, but not be limited to: Project manage a full EPC/EPCM delivery team and subcontractors to deliver projects from front end design, through detailed design, procurement, construction, hand over and close-out bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of a project Stakeholder engagement and management Statement of Requirements throughout the phasing of the project from concept, detail design, and site implementation Implementation of the company quality management system for the project Skills / Qualifications To be successfully shortlisted, you will have worked a minimum of eight years as a Project Engineer in the mining industry across any minerals and/or rare earth projects, with a mechanical background.
In addition, you will also have: Experience and knowledge in the delivery of elements of multi-discipline projects A high level of problem solving abilities High level of numeracy / cost forecasting skills / financial understanding skills Good Interpersonal and relationship skills across broad personnel demographics Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity Broad commercial knowledge of the industry sector Excellent time management skills Safety conscious approach at all time Please note, only those with valid working rights in Australia will be considered at this point in time.
