Location: Kimba SA About the role As an Assistant Manager - Economic Development reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement, you will: Prepare, implement, and promote a skills and economic development plan to ensure that individuals and organisations in the Kimba region can maximise the economic benefits and job opportunities that will flow from the development and operations Assist the Kimba community in determining priority areas for funding as part of the planned Community Skills and Development Program Ensure economic and skills development planning for the NRWMF aligns with Kimba's broader economic, skills and education strategies The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: Establish mechanisms and promote opportunities to engage with the community on economic and skills development associated with the NRWMF Consult with and seek input from community businesses, government departments, and local and regional economic Development agencies in relation to economic development, employment creation, and skills enhancement issues Assist community groups and develop capacity to prepare grant applications and seek sponsorship Identify local community economic, skills and employment priorities, issues and opportunities and help ensure they inform the broader development and operation of the NRWMF Work in close collaboration with the District Council of Kimba in the areas of economic development and regional promotion, event attraction, and tourism promotion The role is focussed primarily around ensuring that the broader economic and skills development priorities of the Kimba region are in tune with the requirements and timeframes of the NRWMF Program to allow the Kimba community to maximise its leverage of the opportunities that arise from the NRWMF Our ideal candidate The successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Marketing or related field, or extensive experience in a position undertaking similar duties in a relatable context Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions to economic development and urban and regional renewal problems Professional experience in relationship-building at a high level within organisations and working with a diverse range of interest groups and stakeholders on strategic issues, to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes A demonstrated knowledge of contemporary economic development practices and philosophy, with the ability to critically assess and apply these concepts Highl....
