Workplace Relations Business Partner
Newly created position with a leading Local Council. Your new company Based in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs, this leading multicultural Local Council has a community first and collaborative approach. This 2-year Fixed Term Contract with the view to go permanent, as Workplace Relations Business Partner, fixating on the end to end Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
Your new role Liaise with People Leaders and provide specialist advice on a range of employee relations issues including employee grievances, proposed restructures, performance, capacity and conduct issues Convert complex industrial relations and legal information and concepts into lay terms to ensure stakeholders understand and can effectively achieve satisfactory outcomes Assist the Workplace Relations Lead with the preparation and negotiation stages of the Enterprise Agreement negotiations Provide consistent and unbiased IR advice in accordance with the organisation's culture and IR Framework Provide advice and support in relation to policies, procedures and HR processes What you'll need to succeed An understanding of Fair Work, relevant tribunal and litigation processes pertaining to collective industrial and employee relations Proven experience in policy and procedure framework management, including development, implementation and education ensuring intersection with relevant legislation, the Enterprise Agreement and organisational strategy Demonstrated ability to apply emotional intelligence when dealing with highly sensitive people matters Ability to write, interpret and implement HR policies and procedures, relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements, employment contracts, IR and legal documentation Relevant tertiary qualifications What you'll get in return Reporting to the Workplace Relations Lead, you will be a key member and support network providing specialist knowledge on Enterprise Agreements in a critical period for the organisation.
