Arcare is the largest private provider of aged care nationally, excelling in staff education and development, innovation in care and a supportive team environment with opportunities for internal promotion as the company expands in NSW About yourself & responsibilities: Ensuring meals and refreshments are provided that meet the resident’s individual needs Maintaining the Food Safety Program guidelines Ensuring all staff in catering department maintain safe food handling practices Model and demonstrate extensive knowledge of Arcare’s Values, Relationship-centred model of care and Senses-framework Resources will be used in a responsible, effective and cost-effective manner.
Fulfilling responsibilities within the budget allocated, including menu planning, ordering, food costing. Ensure all catering equipment is maintained in accordance with OHS requirements, manufacturer’s guidelines, the Food Act and food and handling regulations and guidelines. Demonstrate and understanding of the ageing process and a willingness to develop these skills further by attending compulsory training sessions and/or training and development sessions you have been directed to attend.
Be able to locate and refer to the Arcare Policies, Procedures and Forms and act within these guidelines at all times. Acknowledge and deliver the different social, spiritual and cultural needs of each individual resident. Essential: Relevant Industry Training – Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate. Current police clearance and Statutory Declaration that does not preclude working in Aged Care. Desirable: Previous experience in an Aged Care Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering and special diet preparation.
Previous experience working in catering in a residential aged care residence. Proficient in computers – Microsoft suite. Reporting directly to the Residence Manager.
