Government department seeks experienced Communications & Engagement Advisor to develop Community & Stakeholder Communications & Engagement plans Communications and Engagement Advisor opportunity $55-$60 per hour plus Super dependent on experience Full-time, 6 months contract. Immediate start WFH Arrangement until further notice, usually based inner west Melbourne suburbs About the role Our client, a government department, currently seeks an experienced Communications and Engagement Advisor to join them on a 6 months contract for an immediate start. As the Communication and Engagement Advisor, you will be accountable for developing and delivering Community and Stakeholder Communications and Engagement plans for projects and initiatives in metropolitan and suburban areas.

You will utilise your excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage community, council and industry stakeholders in support of these plans. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Reporting directly into the Communications and Engagement Manager, your key tasks and responsibilities will include: Leading the development and implementation of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement plan Developing strong relationships with affected communities and stakeholders. Generating well written and appropriately selected collateral, such as letters, postcards and other public materials support engagement activities.

This includes drafting Q&As, and project related updates for digital channels. Proactively identifying and mitigating reputational risks and issues with the support of the Manager. Managing and responding to in a timely manner to stakeholder and community enquiries, feedback and issues Working collaboratively across the Strategic Communications and Engagement division for coordinated, consistent and collegiate approaches to the work of the department Preparing reports and briefs for consideration by key stakeholders on critical issues and updates to achieve positive project and program objectives and to enhance the department's external reputation Developing and considering key opportunities to proactively and positively increase the profile of the region and the work underway to support the Greater Melbourne community Experience and Skills The experience and skills you will need to demonstrate include: Experienced in communications, stakeholder relations or community engagement with a demonstrated ability to prepare and implement plans in these areas Negotiation and influencing skills to develop and maintain partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to coach others and write clearly and simply for a wide range of audiences in a variety of styles Demonstrated ability to identify and manage issues that could impact on organisational reputation or achievement of strategic objectives Strong project management skills with an ability to lead complex communication and enga.
