Our commitment to delivering high quality services to the community means we need talented, committed people – we need you Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our Finance Department. Primary Objective of the position: Work with Council business units to articulate business problems. Perform a range of business analysis tasks relating to the design, build and implementation of Information Technology projects.

Liaise with key project stakeholders to deliver outcomes that best meet the organisation’s overall needs. Assist with the development of innovative and creative solutions, taking into account new and developing technology directions, commercially available in a rapidly evolving marketplace. To be successful in this role you must have: Tertiary qualification and/or relevant professional qualifications in Information Management, Information Technology (IT), Business Analysis or Project Management related discipline.

Significant demonstrated experience as an IT Business Analyst. Proven experience in in-house and external software development and implementation including participating in software defect triage and remediation activities. Strong communication skills both written and verbal that clearly conveys ideas and information, to a variety of audiences.

Key Duties & Responsibilities include: Capture and document business requirements for an ERP system build and implementation. Design ‘to-be’ business processes. Define reporting requirements and specifications.

Assist with the planning and execution of functional, integration and user acceptance testing.
