They provide assistance every step of the way, removing the element of risk from situations that clients may be presented with. We are searching for an experienced candidate, to take on a pivotal leadership role, helping shape the long-term success of this firm.
The CEO is responsible for leading the development and execution of the long term strategy with a clear vision to create exceptional shareholder value. The successful candidate will be required to effectively liaise between the board and management, whilst also communicating on behalf of the organisation to employers, authorities, stakeholders and members of the public. In addition, the CEO will be responsible for the ongoing development of a proactive team culture, and continuously improve finance processes and systems to enhance business performance.
Along with standard CEO responsibilities to the board, other duties include; Building an effective multi-jurisdictional insurance organisation, with appropriate management structures and staffing levels in place; Ensure effective systems, internal controls, financial integrity and management information is in place; Continually assessing the principal risks to ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed; with particular attention to currency exposures; Assuring that the capital base is adequately protected by appropriate reinsurance structures and that cross-country allocations are in accordance with board approved transfer pricing guidelines Strategy Development External Awareness: trends, challenges, opportunities, threats, competition, governmental policy Visioning: creating / energizing a common vision Strategic Thinking: challenging traditional practices and seeing new models and opportunities Strategic Planning: seeing a roadmap for organisational transformation Leadership Competencies Leadership Competencies that apply to the CEO include but are not limited to: Strategy Development, Transformational Leadership, Enterprise Management, Customer Focus, Board Relations, Integrity and Credibility. To be successful for this role: Be an accomplished executive, who can lead the business for future growth. Previous PNG exposure or experience working in developing economies Experience leading strategic, people, finance and operations in an Insurance or Financial Service environment Tertiary qualifications in management or other relevant qualifications.
