Fixed-Term – until June 2022 Part-Time - 64 hours per fortnight Classification code – Community Development Worker CL 2B Y3 Alfred location Staff benefits DEPARTMENT: Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

Services are provided by a number of teams located at the Alfred Hospital (Commercial Road, Prahran) and at St. Kilda Road Clinic, Alma Road CCU in St. Kilda, the Child & Youth Mental Health Service located in Moorabbin and Headspace services in various locations in Victoria.

AMAH also works in partnership with relevant local non-government and social support agencies. Alfred Mental and Addiction Health Adult services comprise 4 Programs: Acute Program (Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Units) Emergency and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (Triage, CATT, Emergency Dept and CL) Community Psychiatry Child and Youth Services POSITION: The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System clearly outlined the need to improve consumer/carer feedback loops, which involve sharing experience of care to identify and act upon opportunities to improve service. The Enabling Consumer Carer Feedback Loop project is a pilot program that will focus upon improving how the Alfred Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program empowers consumers and carers to share their experience, identify and prioritise improvement opportunities and understand what is changing.

This position will work alongside a project committee and give AMAH the opportunity to design, test and implement consumer/carer feedback channels and develop pathways for consumer and carer participation in Alfred Mental and Addiction health. To support these functions a Project Co-ordinator position will be created to ensure that the service is able to meet the requirements of the of the pilot program, will assist in the development of a lived experience participation program and assist with the other service developments related to lived experience engagement. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Mandatory: Tertiary qualifications in relevant field Desirable Tertiary qualifications preferred either in: Certificate IV in Mental Health Certificate IV in Peer Work Certificate IV in Coordination of Volunteer Programs Certificate IV in Community Services Experience with Volunteer Databases (e.
