Community Support Worker - Critical Interim SupportBrotherhood of St Laurence
The Brotherhood of Aged Care – Critical Interim Support team has a vacancy for a Community Support Worker on a casual basis. This role will be based with the team in Frankston but will require travel to the northern suburbs. In this roll you will be providing support to the most vulnerable of clients, you may be assisting with home cleaning, personal care, escorting clients to appointments or providing social support and activities.
This role requires an experienced mature carer who build rapport with clients easily who is prepared to assist these vulnerable clients. This casual role approximately one day per week requires flexibility to work in both the Frankston and Sunshine areas. You may be required to use your own car travel cost will be reimbursed.
You will: Assist in the hands-on support to the clients of this program with cleaning, de-cluttering, errand -running and providing transport to appointments Develop and maintain professional, positive lines of communication with other service providers, families, advocates and clients . Complete and maintain accurate records including but not limited to cash handling records, travel and client notes when applicable Report any observations that may affect client activities, health and well-being and the running of the program to the relevant case manager as required Be a strong team player, take initiative and work alongside your team in a highly accountable, creative and passionate manner Other duties as require To be successful in this role you will: Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent. Experience in a similar role working in the homeless sector or similar Demonstrated background with complex behaviours of concerns within a positive behavioural support approach Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build rapport and confidence with clients High level of self-accountability, strong time management and a strong ‘above and beyond’ attitude Demonstrated ability to not only accept change, but drive change within your work Current Victorian Driver’s License.
