Your roleThe Head of Department will specifically lead the schools' Explicit Improvement Agenda, by influencing Teaching and Learning through: A culture for learning Systematic curriculum delivery Effective pedagogical practices Expert teaching team The successful applicant will be accountable for, but not limited to: Developing staff expertise in 'Teaching for Thinking' focused on Effective Pedagogical Practices Identifying staff expertise in 'Teaching for Thinking' to lead and support teachers to develop cognitively complex learning experiences to challenge and extend students Professional development - Effective Pedagogical Practices Whole school and targeted development and delivery Formal and informal professional dialogue opportunities within collaborative teacher meetings Staff engagement in the Collegial Engagement Model Coaching and mentoring of identified staff for improved pedagogical practices Management of the accessibility and implementation of Deep Learning Initiatives A mandatory requirement of this role is: Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
