Manage the offices of the President and Deputy President by providing confidential executive and secretarial support Temporary full-time 6 months, based in Brisbane CBD Salary (AO4) - $76,669 to $84,281 per annum plus super (pro rata) The Role: Reporting to the President of the Tribunal, the Legal and Executive Support Officer is responsible for managing the offices of the President and Deputy President by providing confidential, executive and secretarial support. This includes production of high-quality documents, enquiry screening, event management, diary management, minute taking, correspondence management and travel organisation. The role also involves proactively managing all deadlines and upcoming meetings and events to ensure the President and Deputy President are sufficiently prepared and managing files for particular Tribunal hearings and other legal matters at the direction of the President and Deputy President.
What we are looking for:To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate experience providing high-level executive and secretarial support within a large and multi-disciplinary organisation. You will have proven experience preparing correspondence and other written documentation and demonstrate the ability to coordinate, manage and review incoming and outgoing correspondence using tact and diplomacy. This role requires someone who possesses attitudes and a personality which enable them to work cooperatively and respectfully within the organisation, including demonstrating empathy and understanding towards vulnerable population groups.
You will be required to demonstrate good communication skills, including an ability to write clear and correct English, and possess the personal maturity sufficient to enable you to converse confidently with persons occupying high office in professional settings. Additionally, you will demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders from all levels of an organisation and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic. You will have the ability to effectively deal with sensitive and confidential issues whilst demonstrating discretion, confidentiality, tact, initiative, reliability, resilience and the ability to work in confronting and challenging circumstances.
About UsThe Mental Health Review Tribunal (the Tribunal) is an independent decision making body continued under the Mental Health Act 2016. The primary purpose of the Tribunal is to review the involuntary status of persons with mental illnesses and/or intellectual disability, including the review of treatment authorities, forensic orders, treatment support orders, a person's fitness for trial, and the detention of a minor in a high security unit. The Tribunal also hears applications for examination authorities, applications to perform regulated treatments and approvals for patients to transfer into and out of Queensland.
