Senior Consultant Project Management (Construction)
About the Job Join a high performing, hand-picked team working on complex projects within the social infrastructure and transport sectors. The Opportunity As part of a growing organisation and a key part of a dynamic team, you will be provided the support and investment to: Manage construction projects from initiation, design, procurement, construction and delivery. Interpret client requirements to define the scope, cost and schedule of the construction projects.
Liaise with architects, engineers, and other technical consultants to assess and develop the project design, project budget and constructability. Ensure the project scope is properly documented in the drawings, contracts and specifications. Develop project programs from project initiation, design, procurement, to construction and delivery.
Produce and review tender and contract documentation. Liaise with contractors to ensure the appropriate on-site coordination of materials, equipment and labour resources. Monitor progress, track deadlines, obligations and deliverables, assess progress claims, time extensions and variations.
Ensure the project progresses through each phase successfully, on time and within budget. Site supervision to monitor the execution and progress of construction works, quality and safety. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Review designs and specifications to ensure compliance with the project scope, quality, budget, safety in design and regulations. Review and approve project documentation for submission to local authorities. Coordinate the approval of permits and licenses required for construction sites with local government agencies.
About You You will have a strong understanding of how projects and programs are developed and managed to deliver high quality outcomes in the infrastructure market and you will thrive performing in a fast paced and dynamic environment. As the ideal candidate you will have: Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, architecture, construction management, construction law or similar specialised fields. Experience working on significant infrastructure projects and programs.
The ability to lead and manage high performing project teams on complex projects. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the capacity to grow a client following and build industry relationships. At least three years’ industry experience – government project experience is considered advantageous.
