The opportunity Due to ongoing demand, we have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated Fitter to join our established operations team. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead your role will be to provide effective support in the maintenance and repair of the production line, ensuring the achievement of factory production targets.
Key Responsibilities: Mechanical and preventative maintenance; Complete work instructions and checklists prior to production to ensure machinery is in the correct working order; Operate machinery safely and efficiently if and when required to ensure line continues to operate and achieve budget targets; Respond in a timely manner to breakdowns, inspect and identify root cause and rectify to limit production downtime; Monitor maintenance spares and advise accordingly for re-order; Report quality issues to ensure our products maintain high standards; Adhere to safe work practices and take steps to identify hazards and report incidents; Ensure Maintenance House Keeping standards are adhered to at all times; Perform shift change over activities in accordance with established procedures; Proactively identify any areas for improvements in production; Be involved in and lead process improvement activities as required. Attributes for success: Trade Mechanical Fitter qualified; Welding certification; Intermediate PC skills; SAP skills are merited; Current Forklift Licence; Effective communicator; Problem identification and solving skills Good organisational skills; Previous experience in shift work and 24hr/7 day manufacturing operations advantageous; Experience in industrial manufacturing preferred; Motivated team player with the ability to work independently as well a part of a team Hours of Work : Scheduled Rotating Shifts (Day and Night) with possible additional overtime required as per operational demand.
