Maximum Term Full Time Contract Cooktown Location Competitive Salary 9.5% Super Not for Profit Benefits and Salary Packaging We're currently inviting applications from energetic, passionate and highly capable Family Case Workers to join our team in Cape York Practice Information: The Cape York Family Centre, Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led service delivery arm of UnitingCare. The Cape York Family Centre offers residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families currently living with addiction and often accompanied by complex physical and emotional health issues.
The service foundation is built from our strong cultural identity, community relationships and partnerships and a passion for supporting vulnerable families in our communities. At UnitingCare we provide aged care, disability supports, health care and crisis response in Queensland. The foundations of Pinangba are built from our cultural identity and strong community relationships and partnerships. We deliver a range of services including aged care, respite, family therapy and drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Town Information: Our Cape York Family Centre runs a groundbreaking model that focuses on supporting the healing and transformation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Based in a residential bush setting, this position presents a unique opportunity to be a part of a meaningful closing the gap initiative whilst being based in a gorgeous scenic location just 25 minutes outside of Cooktown. Position Description: You'll visit and assess the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families at high risk of breakdown due to alcohol and drug use who may also have secondary related mental and/or physical health issues. You will be responsible for case management of a family throughout the duration of the residential component of their rehabilitation.
Supplementing this you will also manage their transition back to community living which will include coordinating any additional support services they may require to have a seamless re-integration. This is a unique opportunity to experience life in one of the most beautiful, historic and unspoilt natural wonderlands in Australia. This role includes subsidised housing for those applicants required to relocate to Cooktown.
