The Employment and Inclusion Group in DJPR are seeking motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic Engagement Officer to join the team. This opportunity is suitable for candidates wanting to contribute to supporting people into employment and building a more economically and socially inclusive Victoria.
The role is responsible for supporting and managing the implementation of economic inclusion and employment initiatives being delivered by the Employment and Inclusion Group, with an emphasis on ensuring the outcomes of these programs and projects enhance and grow inclusive economic and community development. You will be required to apply culturally appropriate supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employers and job seekers engaging with the Jobs Victoria online hub and work closely with the Aboriginal Economic Development (AED) branch. You will enjoy contributing to challenging but rewarding projects that involves engaging with businesses and stakeholders from a variety of organisations to build a pipeline of job opportunities and capital projects that will help Jobs Victoria deliver the intended outcomes of the fund.
The successful applicant will ensure that Jobs Victoria is able to build strong, sustainable relationships with For-Purpose businesses, helping to identify, prioritised and coordinate stakeholders to ensure the greatest public value and highest possible standard of quality and accountability in is achieved in accordance with the principles of the Fund. To be successful in this role: You will have an understanding of cultural sensitivities and the unique needs of Aboriginal jobseekers, as well as common barriers that impact Aboriginal people engaging in the workforce. You will have a collaboration mindset and interest in using innovative techniques to enhance both internal and external engagement.
You will be driven to improve employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians in support of economic recovery. You will be excited by a role that will be instrumental in helping with the establishment of a new Group focussed on building a stronger, fairer and more inclusive Victoria and how we can best set the Group up for success.
