Project Manager - Epilepsy Research Program

About the role: A unique and exciting opportunity is available to be part of a new program for the development and commercialization of novel therapies for severe childhood epilepsies. This program is of particular significance to the Institute, and a chance to be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of infants and children suffering from incurable and devastating neurogenetic disorders. The candidate will join an outstanding group of scientists and staff, working within the Ion Channels and Human Diseases team at our Parkville facility.

The candidate will be responsible for: Project managing contracted research involving multiple stakeholders Coordinating project resources to ensure timely completion of objectives Overseeing and managing project risk Preparing scientific and financial reports Executing the partnering strategy We envisage the successful candidate will have a strong research background and is looking to pursue other career opportunities using their management and co-ordination skills, whilst continuing to contribute to outstanding medical research. Detailed information and key responsibilities are available from the Position Description This position is fixed-term, full-time until March 2024 and attracts a salary offer of $95,288 (HEW8-1) commensurate with experience. About you: The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in biological sciences (PhD highly preferred) Experience working in a medical research environment Scientific and intellectual property literacy Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with highly sensitive information Comprehensive project management experience and expertise including reporting and budgets Demonstrable risk management and problem-solving experience and expertise Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional time-management skills Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build productive working relationships with a range of internal and external personnel What we offer: Working at the Florey offers you the chance to work with a dedicated group of researchers within a culture that focuses on equity, diversity and collaboration.
