Technology Risk Senior Manager
Exciting opportunity to join as part of our Operational Risk division. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your creativity, persuasiveness, technology and Risk management skills and experience to implement and further develop Macquarie’s Operational Risk Management Framework. This role will give you oversight for the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework with a technology focus, including providing insight on Technology Risk areas to the Board.
You will take responsibility for the development and provision of training and advice about operational Technology Risk policies and methodologies across Macquarie’s global business. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the business and Technology Risk profiles and key processes and where appropriate act as a catalyst for change. You’ll review and challenge Technology Risk reporting, assessments, incidents and assurance activities.
The role will see you conduct an independent assurance or validation review over targeted technology risk areas as well as applying analytics to operational risk data to identify risks and trends to improve technology risk management. You will provide insights and advice to businesses on the best practice for design, measurement, analysis, evaluation and reporting of technology operational risk and where appropriate you will respond to requests from various stakeholders including regulators, auditors and Macquarie senior management. You will bring with you extensive experience in Operational Risk, Internal and/or External Audit experience gained within an international financial institution and/or professional services firm with your strong problem-solving skills to challenge the status quo and further develop and build on our Operational Risk Management Framework.
A tertiary degree in Technology or a related area as well as professional qualifications (CA or CISA) or relevant postgraduate degrees would be advantageous. You’ll display the ability to think laterally with strong problem solving, persuasive skills and an ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex technology situations. Whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to initiate and lead conversations with technology and business leaders and risk colleagues regarding anticipated and emerging issues.
A good working knowledge of the regulatory requirements and environment in which Macquarie operates as well as a good understanding of Technology and familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance systems would be important to help you succeed within the role. You’ll join an experienced team but will need the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a global matrixed organisation to deliver results whilst showing the tenacity, agility and a proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focused environment.
