Our Opportunities Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre – Capability and Development Team The Capability and Development Team partners with experts, both domestic and international, to deliver projects that identify, develop and embed innovative and leading counter fraud practice across the Commonwealth. Current areas of focus include working with partners to embed leading practice processes and expertise in fraud risk assessment, pressure testing and information sharing, as well as supporting data sharing pilots to counter fraud. Future projects may include partnering with experts to identify, develop and embed leading practice and expertise in other areas, such as policy design, suitability assessments and data analytics to strengthen counter fraud arrangements across Commonwealth entities.

Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre – Policy and Evidence Team The Policy and Evidence Team works to improve the evidence base and foster a whole of government approach to preventing fraud. The evidence and policy streams work together to ensure a strong evidence base for policy advice and decisions. Staff in the evidence stream will work closely with the Australian Institute of Criminology on their annual fraud census, design new and innovative methods to measure the impact of fraud prevention activities, and design new data-driven methods to measure the prevalence of fraud in a program.

Staff in the policy stream provide policy advice to entities when implementing the Commonwealth Fraud Control Framework, write policy briefs on topics relevant to counter fraud, manage submissions to executive internal and external committees and manage the secretariat for our two counter fraud executive committees. This team will also undertake the future review of the Commonwealth Fraud Control Framework. Role and expectations of the successful candidate The Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre has various vacancies for Project and Administration Officers.

These roles involve: Providing administrative support to the Centre, such as managing distribution lists, the fraud mailbox and the Centre’s file structures Assistance coordinating workshops and forums Developing slide shows for workshops Ad hoc support for other projects as capacity allows Who are we looking for? Specific requirements of the role: Strong organisational and inter-personal skills Experience with Microsoft suite of programs (particularly Word, Outlook and Powerpoint) Clear written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders Willing to think creatively and learn new skills to develop practical and innovative solutions Collaborative team player, and enjoys building productive wor.
