Senior Policy Officer, Operational Policy and Stakeholder Engagement, APS Level 6, Anti-Dumping Commission

About the team As an independent Commission housed within the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, the Anti-Dumping Commission (the Commission) is a values led organisation responsible for administering Australia’s anti-dumping and countervailing system. The Commission undertakes complex investigations into allegations of dumping and subsidisation made by Australian Industry against overseas exporters and governments. These investigations require the Commission to work closely with Australian manufacturers and importers, as well as foreign exporters and governments.

We are seeking to build our capacity and capability to continue in our delivery of robust, timely and evidenced-based decisions that form the basis of the Commissioner’s findings and recommendations to the Minister. The Operational Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Section takes the lead in identifying and addressing operational policy and practice issues that directly impact investigations, as well as the Commission’s broader strategic, political and operational priorities. The Section also leads the Commission’s engagement with internal and external stakeholders, both to provide a high standard of information and guidance on anti-dumping matters (domestic and international) and to consult on ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the administration of Australia’s anti-dumping system.

What you will do The successful candidate will be able demonstrate they have: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills, including the ability to draft advice and guidance on operational policy and practice issues, as well as other communication materials as required Excellent analytical skills, policy analysis capability and research skills, including the ability to quickly acquire and apply an understanding of Australia’s legislative and policy framework in relation to trade policy and the anti-dumping and countervailing system, as well as knowledge of Australia’s international agreement obligations and role in the WTO An ability to anticipate and respond to stakeh.
