With a focus on regional, remote and disadvantaged communities, Macquarie Sports supports programs across nine sports. Macquarie Sports is part of the Macquarie Group Foundation.

Macquarie Sports Scholarships Macquarie Sports offers unique scholarships to elite sports men and women, who pursue dual sporting and career goals.
Given the time constraints athletes experience with training, competition and study commitments, there is often little opportunity to gain corporate work experience. Macquarie Sports scholarships provide this corporate experience, as well as access to the networks and resources that enable a smooth transition from the sporting arena to the workplace. Scholarship benefits 10 weeks paid summer internship in one of Macquarie’s four business groups: Banking and Financial Services (BFS), Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), Macquarie Capital (MacCap) or Commodities and Global Markets (CGM).
Paid casual employment on Macquarie Sports' projects/programs as they arise, such as sports clinics and functions. Networking opportunities with the Macquarie Sports Scholarship Alumni and corporate, government, sporting and not-for-profit organisations. Selection criteria Applications are sought from ambitious, focused and well organised candidates who are committed to both their sporting careers and professional goals.
Candidates must: Be in the penultimate year of their studies Be a current national and/or state sporting representative, or have been so within the past three years Have a career interest in the banking and finance sector Be available to complete their placements during the nominated period Have demonstrated high-level tertiary academic performance; Not currently have full time employment. The weighting of these criteria will be at the discretion of the selection committee. The overall quality of the application will be taken into account.
All scholarship positions are based in Sydney, Australia. The internship period runs from 6 December 2021 to 11 February 2022.
