Full Time Chef (Carboni's Italian Kitchen)
Carboni's Italian Kitchen based in Ballarat is looking for an experienced chef to join their team who can match our passion for food and customer experience. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies. Maintain standards for food storage and monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion. Demonstrating techniques such as Grilling, boiling,etc and advising on cooking procedures Prepare and cook food in a timely manner. Ensure hygiene regulations and sanitation practices in the kitchen.
Supervise and assist cooks and other kitchen staff as needed. Check freshness of food, freeze and preserve food items. Skills and Experience 2 years experience as a Chef.
Preferred Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent or higher trade qualifications) Excellent communication and organisation skills Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards Ability to work Full time (38 hours Per week). Able to work in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability for working additional hours on rotating roster as per the requirements of the business.
