R Recruitment has proudly partnered exclusively with a leading Aged Care provider and is currently seeking a General Manager due to the upcoming retirement of a long standing and valued employee. As the General Manager, you will lead the residential aged care business to ensure safe and quality care for residents. You will also ensure the delivery of services to enhance the physical, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of older Australian’s through Christ-centred care.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you are a key member of the executive leadership team. The position has oversight of clinical care, hospitality services, lifestyle, allied health, chaplaincy and administrative support. The position has a significant leadership role in leading the business unit response to stakeholder relations and issue resolution, the overall model of care, and external accreditation and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience in the health care sector, ideally aged care, and be able to lead a multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to a genuinely warm workplace culture and have the skills to support staff, residents and their families. THE ROLE: Residential Care Services Working closely with the Clinical Manager, ensure an appropriate model of care is in place to deliver safe high-quality care of residents.
Support the Clinical Manager as needed with oversight of admissions/departures, delivery of clinical care, funding, staffing, management of visiting medical officers and allied health services, infection control and outbreak management. Working closely with the Hospitality Services Manager, ensure quality and compliance in the service delivery of catering, cleaning and laundry services. Work closely with the Lifestyle Manager to provide holistic care of residents through Chaplaincy support and spiritual care, Physiotherapy services, Lifestyle services and external service providers.
Work closely with the Administration Team Leader to ensure rostering, reception and administrative support functions deliver high levels of customer service and meet operational needs. Support managers and provide an escalation point for complex issues arising from service delivery, feedback/complaints, critical incidents, auditing and continuous improvement. Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Ensure clinical governance systems are in place to deliver high standards of safe quality care to residents.
The role is a member of the Board Clinical Governance Committee. With the support of the Quality and Compliance Manager ensure a consistent approach to compliance that delivers accreditation of service every three years.
