The Role As the Chef joining our Cloncurry Operation, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation in a Commercial Kitchen consisting of Breakfast shifts on a 14/7 day roster, with consistent superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities.
As a Chef you will achieve this through implementing a strong service focus and ensuring that efficient standards and practices are employed. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. You will assist in overseeing all kitchen employees, including training and performance development.
You will be responsible for providing smorgasbord/buffet style dining for guests residing at the Park, as well as buffet for small function & conference groups. You will also liaise with front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of daily services. About You Must have experience in remote locations and experience in similar set up facilitating 4,000 meals a month.
The position includes the below responsibilities: Food preparation and presentation (Breakfast) Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, special requests) Management of stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking Maintaining a clean kitchen, equipment and utensils Adherence to legislated food hygiene and general safety practices Fast, effective service provided with a smile Assisting the broader team as required In order to be successful in this role you will need: Certificate III Commercial Cookery Food Safety Supervisor Certification Min 3 years post-qualification experience in executing all aspects of kitchen operations and food preparation and service, preferably in a remote environment A commitment to genuine, friendly & professional customer service A motivated, enthusiastic and positive ‘can-do’ attitude Resourcefulness, resilience and creative thinking Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging & time-sensitive environment Pride in personal appearance & hygiene Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management P....
