Senior Project Director x 2Hays
Senior Construction Project Director, 12 month Government contract, $750-950/day Super, CBD based. This opportunity is with a large Government department with a State-wide portfolio of cutting edge and historic educational building projects. The large offices are based in the CBD and very close to transport.
You are a dynamic and committed Senior Construction Professional, capable of leading large capital building projects within NSW. Driven and solutions focused, you will oversee the whole of project life cycle, from development and preparation of all business cases and related plans through to delivery, commissioning and successful handover, in consultation with key stakeholders. To strengthen and progress these projects your key accountabilities will be: • Lead a cross-portfolio team who assist in the development and delivery of Major Works ($20m-$250m) programs by providing financial, reporting, quality assurance and procurement services • Lead engagement with major stakeholders including internal and central government agencies to ensure the smooth passage of capital works programs from planning and budget submissions through to delivery teams and subsequent management, reporting, safety and assurance.
• Liaise with Local Council, provide authoritative and specialised advice and brief senior Departmental staff, school principals, and the Minister on Capital Works and strategic asset management issues to provide sound information and recommendations regarding policies, strategies and priorities to enable informed decision making. • Implement and monitor the application of Government policies and procedures relating to asset planning and management, including Total Asset Management principles to ensure the Department meets all legislative, contract and safety obligations and requirements. • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of Government Agencies, such as NSW Treasury, Infrastructure NSW, as well as other major stakeholders.
• Lead, motivate and mentor members of the Project team to build commitment to shared goals and effective working relationships and the creation of a customer focussed culture. • Direct, lead, and mentor team members, monitor and review staff performance, foster ongoing professional development and ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and support to achieve their work performance objectives to drive high performance, best practice and continuous improvement. Your challenges will be: • Delivering projects within defined timeframes in a commercial environment while coordinating and advising regional/dispersed Asset Management Units in capital and infrastructure project and program management, and associated reporting.
