Leadership Opportunity - Take the next step in your career in Mental Health Nursing in Tropical North QLD Your new company This leadership role is based in Townsville with well-established Not for Profit organisation. Due to a rapid period of growth and expansion across the Far North and Western Region this values based organisation is actively looking for a passionate Mental Health nurse to manage a community-based team. Your new role Reporting to the Mental Health Manager, your role will be primarily based in Townsville, with expectation that you will be available to travel to remote health centres on occasion to support your team.
Your role will include, however may not be limited to; Manage mental health and/or psycho-social well-being programs across the organisation with accuracy and within budget constraints. Accurately understand and implement operational guidelines for various programs. Manage a team of staff (8-10) to achieve program objectives.
Manage data/documentation processes and ensure that staff comply with documentation policies and requirements. Providing overall direction and management for the team of staff. Implement and monitor the adherence to procedures, policies and standards for all staff.
Liaise with other health and welfare providers to discuss areas of health and welfare service cooperation and coordination Advising senior management about measures to improve health and welfare services and facilities Engage in recruitment activities including selection, training, induction and supervision of staff Travel as required to support regional areas What you'll need to succeed To be successful in obtaining an interview for this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes; Hold or be eligible to obtain AHPRA registration as a registered nurse and MUST be credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses Demonstrated high level of communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including General Practitioners, Health Service Providers, Government and Non-Government agencies. Awareness of Indigenous Health issues and an ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner. Ability to support team members working in a cross-cultural environment.
Demonstrated ability to ensure that data entry, assessment, planning, evaluation and review processes underpin all service delivery.
