Student Services Engagement Officer (Identified Role) Friday, March 12, 2021 Location: Melbourne Job Type: Permanent / Full Time Reference No. 3232640 Job Description: First Grade has partnered with the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) to source a Student Services / Engagement Officer in Melbourne on a permanent basis. Organisational Overview VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in Victoria and champions community control and health equality for Aboriginal communities.
We are a centre of expertise, policy advice, training, innovation and leadership in Aboriginal health and wellbeing. VACCHO advocates for the health equality and optimum health of all Aboriginal people in Victoria. Unit Overview The Education Services Unit is the commercial arm of VACCHO and delivers VACCHOs accredited and non-accredited education and training programs.
VACCHO is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is registered with the Australian Skills and Qualifications Authority (ASQA) and complies with the National VET Regulator Act and National VET Qualify Framework. In addition, the Education Services Unit also delivers high quality Aboriginal cultural safety training. This training has been developed in accordance with community consultation and the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (NACCHOs) Cultural Safety Training Standards.
Role Overview The Student Services Officer supports the effective daily functioning and compliance of VACCHO Education Services Unit, ensuring we deliver exceptional outcomes to students and other stakeholders, by undertaking a broad range of administrative functions related to the provision of student support services, answering student and prospective student enquiries, the maintenance of both student records, and administrative support to trainers relating to course delivery. The position will also work collaboratively across the Unit to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Key Responsibilities Communications and Liaison with Students, Prospective Students, and Other Stakeholders Act as first point of contact for all students, prospective students, and other stakeholders, providing provide a welcoming and friendly environment, whilst providing timely, accurate information and high-quality customer service.
Maintain regular communication with students and students employers regarding course delivery and/or changes, such as change of venue, timetables, absences, and so on. Liaise with and support trainers, other staff and students regarding internal administrative processes and student support services, including providing advice to students on administrative requirements. Liaise with providers of goods and services, such as caterers, accommodation providers, finance, information technology support and others as required.
