Tasmania Tin Operations Renison Mine About Bluestone Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, is Australia’s largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin mine now entering an exciting redevelopment period. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.
About the mine It is an exciting time at the Renison underground mine which has recently announced its Life of Mine plan outlining a strong resource plan for the next 10 years. Renison is embarking on a progressive improvement journey to challenge the way we work and optimise our operations to increase our production and transform our mining style. A capital plan of works to construct a paste backfill plant and new ventilation shaft is just some of the work underway to support the journey.
About the role We are looking for an energetic, results driven Senior Production Engineer to join the Technical Services team. This role will be responsible supporting the integrated planning processes to allow execution plans to be achieved, ensuring that production and development achieve the required targets. The position will be reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent and be part of a team who are focused on working together to deliver improvement.
This is a role that would be suitable for those either established as a senior production engineer or wishing to take the next step to the senior level. This position is being offered is on 8 days on 6 days off roster. Core responsibilities Optimisation of ore extraction through effective technical and financial planning within statutory, environmental and budgets constraints.
Superior safety and focussed leadership in safe work practices. Complete design works as inputs into Stope Notes and Panel Notes, influencing both optimised and safe stoping outcomes and strategies. Produce and guide the weekly operational plan.
Assist operations in achieving short to mid-term plans whilst maintain long term planning objectives. Guide, mentor and support production engineers who will be direct reports. Responsible for overseeing and approval of drill and blast plans required to achieve weekly targets, and where required prepare plans.
Plus provide input into mid and longer term schedules and design. About you You will have a tertiary education in Mine Engineering or equivalent and previous experience working at an underground hard rock mine and ideally have completed your underground time. A proficiency in Deswik and the Microsoft suite would be desirable.
