Speech Pathologist Grade 3 - Adults P/T Permanent

The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced speech pathologist to join our expanding Speech Pathology service for adults 18 years and over. We are seeking a dynamic Grade 3 Speech Pathologist with advanced clinical skills and experience and an enthusiasm to work in our community-based multidisciplinary team. This position will have a clinical caseload and supervisory role of Speech Pathology staff.

With a variety of case mix including clients with chronic and complex needs, neurological conditions and those with intellectual disability, this role will be highly rewarding and will offer opportunity for leadership growth and development. Opportunities to work closely with our community to engage, create and deliver appropriate services to meet their needs. Speech Pathology services delivered in clients’ homes as well as our new clinic facilities.

You will report directly to the Manager of Speech Pathology Services.

Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership to the Speech Pathology team in the delivery of clinical services including promotion of an active learning environment. Provide Speech Pathology services at industry benchmark level for community based clients including involvement of other members of the multidisciplinary team where indicated Support the Speech Pathology Manager by assisting to analyse gaps in service needs and workforce capability to inform appropriate education program and workforce planning development. Management of clients with progressive neurological conditions, particularly in the area of dysphagia management and clients with acquired communication disorders or other language and speech disabilities.

Understand funding and revenue streams relevant to providing Speech Pathology based services. Working with eligible clients including HACC, CHSP, NDIS and Home Care Packages. Skills & Experience Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and Speech Pathology Australia membership required Advanced clinical experience and knowledge in the areas of neurology and disability sectors highly valued Previous experience working in areas such as ABI, stroke, neuro rehab, rehab in the home, palliative care, would be an advantage Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Meets the key selection criteria as outlined in the Position Description.

NDIS Worker Screening Check An NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance will be required for the role prior to commencement.
