AM,PM, Sleepovers & Awake Shifts available. Working with Mental Health & Disability in Residential Settings throughout Cairns. About the role: Working with Adults and Children in a variety of settings including SILs, Day Programs, Community Access, Residential Facilities and In Home Support.
Supporting high challenging and complex behaviors with high care requirements. This role will primarily be supporting clients with mental health conditions but not limited to disability & diagnosis. Shifts are located in a variety of locations throughout Cairns and other surrounding suburbs.
Some duties may include but are not limited to: Daily living assistance including meal preparation and domestic duties Personal care prompting and assistance Medications Assistance Community Access and transportation Providing positive behavior support About you : We'd love to hear from candidates who are client focused. You will be eager and motivated to work a variety of shifts - weekdays, weekends, sleepovers in a variety of different locations. You must have: minimum of 6 months paid experience supporting clients with intellectual disability, mental health and complex needs that can be referenced.
First Aid certificate, dated within the last 3 years (or willing to obtain) CPR certificate, dated within the last 12 months (or willing to obtain) Queensland Paid Blue (Working With Children card) Either a current Yellow (Positive Notice card) or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Paid Card). National Police Check - that specifically state that you are clear to work with vulnerable people, no less than 6 months old or willing to obtain. Certificate IV in Mental Health will be highly regarded other qualifications in relevant areas also considered.
Evidence of work rights (Australian passport or birth certificate or Working Visa) Queensland open drivers license Smartphone access Highly regarded skills/experience: Experience supporting complex and challenging behaviours including: verbal/physical aggression, property damage and self-harm. MAYBO/TCI or other behaviour support training. Comprehensively insured vehicle that can be used for work purposes.
