The Star Gold Coast Event Services Department accommodate various conventions, exhibitions, functions, and special events. We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Floor Manager to join our team Responsibilities include: The Assistant Floor Manager will report to the Events Floor Manager and will be responsible for providing assistance to the Event Services Management Team, including but not limited to: ensuring the highest customer service standards are displayed and maintained in our premium Conference and Events Centre supervising and monitoring floor staff, overseeing budget/profitability, delegating daily tasks for the team in accordance with expected business levels and ensuring a sense of urgency in responding to daily business requirements.

The role will see you actively assisting in all aspects of event management, from attending meetings to the set-up of function venues, managing stakeholders and delivering client expectations. The ideal candidate for this role will have: Conference and Event Management experience, ideally within a 5-star establishment Proven ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, high volume hospitality environment Experience in effectively managing a team of 100 staff Ability to handle and resolve team member conflicts in a discreet and timely manner Proven ability to write reports, processes, and procedures Experience delivering team briefings effectively Experience setting daily performance objectives for all team members and supervising flow during service Excellent ability to work under pressure and possess exceptional organizational skills Confidence to communicate with various internal/external stakeholders, both written and verbal An ability to multitask whilst keeping a calm attitude Ability to think on your feet and adapt to an ever changing environment Immaculate personal presentation with the desire to inspire and instil in team members A genuine passion for providing exceptional service A current RSA Statement of Attainment Enthusiasm with a can do attitude Flexibility to work a 7-day roster It’s your time to shine The Star Entertainment Group is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
