This organisation is responsible for growing a stronger Australia through long-term strategic planning, investing and support of industry bodies, initiatives and policy development. Your new role An exciting and growing area of Federal Government is seeking experienced APS6-EL1 Policy Officers with strategic policy minds to support policy development relating to one of Australia's key renewable energy industries that is ripe for growth and development. The various roles involve extensive stakeholder engagement both nationally and internationally, strategic policy development, review of legislation for regulation development, facilitation of research to deliver sound policy advice and community engagement.

You will be required to provide input into program development and project design for the implementation of the overall strategy across a number of objectives. Working within a committed team but with a high degree of autonomy these roles will require your strong analytical and writing skills to propose avenues for development of a growing technical industry within Australia. The ideal candidate will be able to provide high quality written and oral advice on the issues facing the Australia's renewable energy sector and be strategic and creative in developing ways to overcome these issues.

Experience in policy development, program or project management and international stakeholder engagement are highly desirable. In addition, a background in engineering, science in relation to energy or renewables is highly desirable. What you'll need to succeed Strong communication and research skills Experience with international negotiation will be highly regarded Experience working in the Federal Government preparing ministerial briefs and correspondence An aptitude for grasping and consolidating technical information Ability to work well in a team, be flexible and thrive on problem solving tasks Confidence working autonomously on program and project delivery You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline personnel security clearance.
