• Exciting opportunity for an innovative operational Policy professional who enjoys complex problem solving in a fast-paced team environment • Planning Officer (Professional) PO2. Starting salary from $118,507 to $126,843 per annum (plus super and annual leave loading) • Temporary Role of up to 24 months with possibility for extension and/or conversion to ongoing • Parramatta Location Our Planning and Assessment Division is seeking a Senior Planning Policy Officer to join the Assessment Policy & Practise team. The Senior Planning Policy Officer will develop policy that effects the delivery of infrastructure as well as policy for assessment practise improvement.
Key accountabilities of this role include: • Undertaking research and analysis to evaluate issues and formulate evidence-based recommendations to support policy and program development and implementation. • Develop policy and contribute to ongoing policy monitoring and evaluation to assess the environmental, social and economic impacts • Identify, critically analyse and evaluate key issues, and formulate options and recommendations to improve planning and assessment processes • Prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence to address identified issues and respond to requests for information To learn more about the roles, click here to view the role description. About You To be successful in this role, you must have: • A degree in a relevant discipline • Demonstrated knowledge of the Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other legislation governing land use and environmental planning in NSW • Relevant policy experience with a strong understanding of effective ways of policy development for infrastructure and process improvement • The ability to problem solve you are also known as a critical thinker who is adaptable, organised with a great positive attitude • Strong relationship management skills Enquiries: Please contact Jennifer Richardson on 02.
