Remote Sensing Scientist · Ongoing opportunity, salary starting from 93,326 superannuation · Exciting opportunity to support the strategic direction of Remote Sensing. About the Role: · Contribute to large and complex scientific projects including remote sensing imagery and GIS analysis and data management. · Provide skilled GIS/remote sensing support for the capture, maintenance, management, and analysis of state wide land management datasets.
· Provide timely advice and communication to relevant stakeholders on remote sensed imagery analysis, products and assessment. · Develop and present technical scientific reports that are suitable for a range of audiences. · Deliver high quality science through maintaining high level, up to date knowledge and skills in relevant areas and provide support in the design and creation of tools and resources to achieve project and organisational objectives.
About you: · Scientific qualifications, knowledge and demonstrated experience of delivering statewide projects using remote sensed imagery interpretation, analysis and assessment. · Extensive experience with remote sensing and GIS software programs and spatial data management. · Experience managing program tasks including tracking and reporting on delivery.
· Ability to undertake imagery interpretation to support legal prosecutions and court cases. · Ability to work in a geographically dispersed project team and use a range of communication tools. · Experience with high performance computing and\or scripting in python or linux is desirable.
