Liquor & Gaming NSW regulates the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered clubs sectors in NSW, and provides policy advice to government in these spaces. In addition, we provide secretariat support to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority, the statutory decision-maker responsible for a range of casino, liquor, registered club and gaming machine regulatory functions. nsw.gov.au/why-work-for-nsw The role sits within the Regulatory & Business Intelligence team, which is a part of the Better Regulation Division under the Investigations and Enforcement stream.
The team assists in the provision of efficient, innovative and effective delivery of intelligence-led, risk-based investigation and enforcement activities for the protection of the public, businesses and communities in NSW. Our regulatory activities are informed by a risk-based and intelligence led approach. The various areas overseen include all NSW liquor license holders, the Star and Crown casinos and NSW Lotteries.
About the role As an Intelligence Officer in the Better Regulation Division, you will be involved in a range of intelligence related activities in order to support the achievement of regulatory objectives. These activities include: • Provide operational intelligence support including monitoring, information collation/evaluation and the production of intelligence briefs, • Assessing and analysing information collected from Inspectors and other Intel sources, and • Building and maintaining effective relationships to improve intelligence and information sharing and collaboration. About you To be successful in this role, you will: • Have demonstrated experience in collecting and analysing information in a sensitive and complex environment, • Demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory environment and how intelligence may support regulatory priorities, and • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking in assessing and analysing information.
