The SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service (The Langton Centre, St George Hospital and Sutherland Hospital) provides a clinical network of services providing treatment, training and research into drug and alcohol use and misuse. The Registered Nurse position is responsible for the day-to-day assessment and care coordination of clients, liaison with families and other services to facilitate treatment within a harm reduction framework.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) 2. Comprehensive understanding of Drug and Alcohol dependence, treatment, and harm minimisation principles. 3.
Clinical nursing experience in Drug and Alcohol including the provision of Schedule 8 medication. 4. Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence 5.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others. 6. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries at all times 7.
Strong computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems 8. Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
