Administration Assistant Department of Communities & Justice Corrective Services NSW Clerk Grade 1/2 Temporary full time for up to 12 months with a possibility of extension CSI Education (CSI Corporate Office) Location: Windsor About Us The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) was formed in 2019 with the merger of two former departments Family and Community Services (FACS) and Justice. By combining FACS and Justice, the two former agencies are now able to work together as DCJ to support everyone’s right to access justice, to help families, and to promote early intervention and inclusion, in order to provide benefits for the whole community. Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety.
It serves a key function of the NSW Communities and Justice Sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported. About the role The Administrative Assistant supports senior executive or work teams in correctional administrative processes and activities such as general administration, executive support, finance, procurement, warehousing and stores or records maintenance for the effective operation of the work area. About You The ideal candidate will be able to prove their skills to: Undertake a variety of correctional administrative activities for and on behalf of the Manager and / or a work team with or without collaboration of relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are completed effectively; records updated, feedback provided and inquiries clarified as required.
Maintain manual and computerized records pertaining to the work area, accurately and securely ensuring these are accessible. Respond efficiently to all inquiries by stakeholders, customers and clients, escalating and referring, if necessary to the relevant areas in accordance with the local practice and protocol. Generate routine correspondence with a view to exchanging factual information whilst exercising discretion and judgment at all times, seeking supervisory direction as necessary.
Participate in the proceedings of meetings and provide executive support and follow up on actions as necessary, whilst keeping all participants and stakeholders informed. Undertake accurate and consistent work within a high volume environment. Adapting to frequent changes to workload and processes.
Essential Requirements Proven experience in administrative capacity Current driver licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
