The Team The Controls Office informs, enables and ensures Business Banking (BB) achieves its purpose and strategy by interpreting and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations, understanding and mitigating risks through structured controls infrastructure and assurance activities and managing risk governance and reporting frameworks. The Small Business Banking (SBB) team offer a wide products to small business customers with commercial lending up to $1M for customers with an annual turnover of What a day in your role will look like? The Senior Manager role reports directly to the Executive Manager and is responsible to support our State General Managers in Small Business Sales and Service. This role is a 7 months secondment opportunity reporting to the Executive Manager, Risk & Control Advisory & Delivery.
You will have the opportunity to lead a small team and the role will involve working with diverse stakeholders across our business banking division. Specifically you will: Enhancing risk culture and awareness through education, collaboration and challenge. Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations to stakeholders to mitigate issues & incidents.
Remediate control weaknesses/gaps and implement sustainable control testing. Support delivery of the quarterly Remedial Action Plan initiatives. Collaborate with the business to complete Risk in Change assessments.
What will you need to succeed in this role? All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks. You will also need: Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence across your peers Attention to detail and ability to think critically People leadership skills, including expectation setting, coaching, and performance management Sound organisational, planning, and time management skills – the ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and prioritise Extensive experience in banking/financial services or other relevant experience, and strong experience in Operational Risk Management roles.
