Country Sales Leader (CEO) - Outdoor Furniture

The Company This formerly Australian owned brand, now part of the world's largest manufacturer of its type, is widely regarded for its quality of product in categories such as outdoor shade and furniture however over recent years the business hasn't reached it's full potential so is now looking for a new leader to turnaround results and drive sustained, profitable growth through it's channel to market, partnering with key retail distributors such as Domayne and Harvey Norman. The Role Reporting to Asia based HQ, the role will essentially be responsible for both leading a small team as well as managing key customer relationships with major national accounts by building strong relationships with key stakeholders and proactively driving profitable category growth to achieve GM targets. Leading a small sales & admin function across a customer base of 900 accounts nationally, this is very much a hands-on leadership role titled as CEO but effectively responsible for sales and growth so more aligned to a sales leadership profile.

Another key responsibility will be the buying and ordering aspect so forecast accuracy and understanding consumer trends in both categories will be essential to achieving agreed targets with some imports delivered direct to the larger customers and the rest via the company warehouse to smaller distributors. The Person The client's ideal profile will be a hands-on, polished sales leader with a background in similar consumer durable categories (ie not food or beverage), ideally with some experience turning around under-performing categories. An appreciation for Australian standards, an understanding of installation procedures will be an advantage so prior experience in outdoor furniture or shade categories will definitely be an advantage.

Essential to be considered: - Strong commercial acumen and retail customer negotiation skills - National Account Management experience, ideally with likes of Domayne, David Jones, Harvey Norman etc - Proven track record driving category growth with both major retailers and independents - Strong relationship development skills, proactive and customer driven - Sales leadership of a small team of reps servicing smaller distributors & independents - Exceptional communication and presentation skills - Hands-on, driven and accountable - Excellent forecasting and S&OP skills (ideally with experience selecting & ordering product for local distribution) - Data-driven, strong analytically, agile - Prior experience working with Chinese manufacturing plants preferred This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales leader to make their mark turning around a highly regarded brand by taking ownership of results and partnering with key retail distributors, ideally suited to a sales leader looking to take a step to CEO & Country Leadership in a small business that has enormous potential for growth.
