Executive Producer

We're after an Entertainment EP to join our team in North Ryde. This role is responsible for leading creative direction, planning and supervising all elements of individual productions, to ensure the timely production of high quality programs/content within agreed budget parameters. Your role will include Ensuring appropriate and optimal utilisation of resources to provide effective delivery of production initiatives.

Liaising with production companies inc. producers, directors, studio and location crews, graphics staff and other relevant parties to ensure high quality programs are delivered as per specifications - running within deadline, budget and creative expectations. Assisting external producers and directors in identifying appropriate talent and, as required, assisting in associated contract negotiations.

Undertaking research for program content to assist Producers in the development of ideas and creative concepts for programs/segments/online content. Selecting appropriate program content and liaising with other relevant production staff. Ensuring that production processes run efficiently and yield the maximum performance by effectively collaborating with Production Services and allocating resources.

Supervising external production companies - offering guidance to ensure production schedules are adhered to and editorial requirements are met, including relevant regulations and classifications. Work closely with Channel Heads to develop concepts that are tailored to the specific channel audiences and needs. Help develop and produce brand-funded productions.

Your background ideally will include At least 10 years’ international experience as an Executive Producer, including at least 3 years’ experience with an Australian Subscription TV Service and working for major production companies. Tertiary level qualification essential. Experience across a broad range of programme genres, specifically Lifestyle and Entertainment genres.

Strong understanding of both creative production and commercial negotiation, budgets and talent management. Strong understanding of the entire production process – able to provide insight and direction on physical production methodology as well as ensuring creative excellence, to both internal and external stakeholders to produce outstanding results. Excellent relationship skills – must be able to demonstrate previous successes building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, managing multiple productions and collaborating across functions.

Able to work in a high pressure environment, highly resilient to change, able to deal calmly and confidently with the demands of both internal stakeholders and external providers. Strong financial and commercial acumen. Strong negotiation and influencing skills – able to ensure that external vendors and suppliers deliver what has been agreed to.

Excellent problem solving and arbitration skills – able to resolve issues between parti.
