Senior Cook/ Chef
The Prince of Wales Hotel Gulgong has been in the Ellis Family since 1976. Our 40 years experience in the hotel industry has gained us many awards with our pub grub and accommodation. It is a historic regional hotel in central west NSW, just 3 ½ hrs from Sydney.
The Mudgee/Gulgong region has been extremely popular for tourists to visit prior to the Covid lock down and has now just stepped it up a notch with the June reopening. Since our reopening, our owner is stepping back from leading the kitchen team and we are now looking for a responsible, highly motivated, confident, positive person to join us who is passionate about consistency, numbers and teamwork. The successful candidate will spend their working days in a structured, productive and busy environment working with an established, diverse and energetic team - All-the-while maintaining traditional values and consistency in food quality, service and working environment.
It is essential that the applicant have 3yrs previous experience in high-volume service. This is not an entry level position and is not suited to graduates. The position is full time with a salary between $50k – $60k commiserate to skills and experience.
Main duties -Prepare, cook and serve meals according to current menus and recipes -Stock control with minimum waste -Assist other staff of lower levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations -Ensure kitchen areas comply with food safety -Ensure the correct delivery and quality of supplies -Prepare special dietary requirements and assist in menu planning -Follow all policies and procedures.
