Production Painting Specialist

About Us: Fibrestyle Pool Resurfacing is a well-established company that has built its reputation on customer care, quality products and workmanship. The fibreglass resurfacing system we use is internationally recognised, having been tried and tested for over 40 years and subject to constant evaluation and upgrades to incorporate the latest technology. We work with pool renovations (including building access stairs, repairing structural damage and shortening concrete pools) as well as with pool decking, paving, and tiling (including waterline tiles).

About the Position: We are currently seeking an experienced Production Painting Specialist to join our team with an immediate start. This position is full-time and ongoing, working 40 hours a week in NSW. Main Tasks & Responsibilities: Prepare pool surfaces (including concrete, vinyl lined, pebblecrete and fibreglass) for appropriate resurfacing procedure; Use heat to vaporise any sub-surface water in order to provide a long-lasting seal; Fill areas removed with a filling agent designed for fibreglass; Apply vinyl ester resin primer coat; Apply chopped strand matting [laminate] to form the basis for the structural strength of the new surface; Apply bulk resin to the laminate; Apply filler-coat to enhance surface finish and colour on the primed surface; and Apply Aquagaurd top coat for final decorative colour coat as well as to seal the laminate from water penetration.

Other Tasks: Handle planning and prep work in an efficient manner; Prepare surrounding areas by covering them with cloth or plastic to prevent messes as well as preparing relevant workstations; Calculate the amount of materials and time required for each project/job, thereby assisting with pricing/quotations; Clean-up supplies and surroundings when projects/jobs are complete; Communicate with clients to ensure they are getting the look and function they hope for; and Report to management, as required. Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 per annum (plus super) Hiring Criteria In order to be successful, candidates will need to demonstrate that they possess the following professional attributes: Minimum of a related Certificate III level qualification plus 2 years’ work experience OR 3 years’ work experience (in case of no formal qualification). Ability to work independently and unsupervised; Sound communication skills; High degree of honesty and work commitment; Sufficient technical and on-the-job competencies; Good work ethic and punctuality practices; Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays, as well as late hours, when and if required; Strong customer service acumen; and Ability to work in teams and to liaison with co-workers when needed.
